Compensation And Benefits Strategies Recommendations Essay

Benefits and Compensation Strategies Recommendations TEAM B: Ben F. Soares, Thomas Manning, Zoua Yang, Ziad Shamma HRM 531 David John Stocker Benefits and Compensation Strategies Recommendations Introduction: Market Evaluation: When constructing a benefits and compensation strategy, it is important to understand what companies in comparable markets are providing to their employees. For our company, Clayton Commercial Construction, who wants to open up operations in Arizona, it means looking at what other construction companies in and around the state of Arizona are providing as compensation and benefits. Clayton currently employees 650 people in the state of Michigan and is looking to add 130 people (20% increase in headcount)†¦show more content†¦Rewarding performance will motivate employees to continue their good performance or adjust bad performance. Correlating performance with pay ensures that rewards are only given to employees who operate at a high level Since this structure encourages employees to perform at the best of their abilities, management will get the most out of its resources. This becomes doubly important in the construction industry where resources, including budgets, materials, and timeframes are limited. A skilled-based pay structure would be less beneficial because it makes it difficult to do market comparisons, and it would also require the company to keep track of all the skills that every employee has. This in turn would increase cost in the long run, complicated and not time effective (Hausser Lebing, 1996). Time-Based pay structure promotes loyalty to the organization since promotions and increases in pay are based on the length of times the employee is with the organization, but the disadvantages outweigh the positive. For example, this compensation structure sends a message that performance does not matter, which in turn, will cause top performing employees to seek employment in other companies that will recognize their contributions (Hausser Lebing, 1996). Position in the Market: Considering that Clayton has 650 employees and wants to add another 20% in the state of Arizona, and with net income at $10 million, this would put Clayton as aShow MoreRelatedCompensation and Benefits Strategies Recommendations1139 Words   |  5 PagesCompensation and Benefits Strategies Recommendation HRM 531 Compensation and Benefits Strategies Recommendation Providing a first-rate benefits package for employees can be an important part of the recruitment and retention puzzle, especially for small businesses. Health Services Research and Policy

Question: Discuss about the Health Services Research and Policy. Answer: Introduction: Knowledge about the job market is extremely important for a job aspirant to schedule his entire planning ofemployment. Paid and non paid jobs vary immensely and therefore the approach of attaining such opportunities also vary from each other. Not only that, the aspirant should also have detailed knowledge of the recruiters perspectives to understand how his approach towards the job should be. Besides, seeking for the best job according to the profile and gaining success through proper recruitment is a challenge, every aspirant need to cross through. With the latest advancements of technology with every coming tear, it is highly expected that careers in the technological domain will flourish greatly in the recent years to come. There is an established background for making such a comment. This is because every arena of advancements is intricately associated with technologies like the evolution of new forms of automation or robotics which require engineers and technicians. Moreover in the generation which is ruled by smart phones and tablets, there will always be high demand for application developers and designers. Workers who are more tech savvy with extraordinary skills in technological field will definitely have a good career in the future (Aliber, Baipethi Jacobs, 2015). With the advancement in the medical fields, life expectancy has increased and therefore aging populations are highly benefitted. However the growing population of the aged cohorts needs healthcare and therefore demands in health services are expected to rise in the coming years. Workers with powerful healthcare and technological skills are expected to flourish in the industry. The increased demands have therefore created job requirements for nurses, healthcare managers and technicians, pharmacists, care-givers and elder-care coordinators (Alameddin, 2015). Learning both healthcare and business management skills could help the present generation to handle assignments efficiently as good opportunities wait in the hospitals, clinics, private care institutions and public health departments. With the rise of global markets, business is expanding at alarming rates with the sole aim of making profits and attracting customers by understanding the market trends. Therefore the profession of data analysts and market researchers are expected to be in demands by every expanding organization. They also rely on business analyst and strategist to achieve their aims and therefore their professions are also in high demands and the demand is expected to increase in the five years (Albel, Deitz Su, 2014). People who are experienced in skilled salesmanship are always in demand in the leading organizations. A large mass of citizens always like to consult with experts before making financial decisions and investments. In this generation, where people have become extremely cautious about their lives and associated parts, insuring each and every valuable objects are on every citizens priority list (Beyer, 2014). Therefore financial advisors, personal policy advisors, investment planners and similar profile jobs are believed to rise in the coming years. With the growing concerns for the early year education and its quality among the different concerned parents and even the government, a recent trend of quality teaching in the early years of the toddlers have been identified by different nations. Governments have realized the importance of well planned cognitive learning in a scientific way. Therefore the job of early year education has been in high demands. Day care providers no longer face the problems of low wages, high stress and poor job security. Increased demand of quality care ij the early years have therefore created huge demand of teachers in every nation. However there are certain careers which are expected to decrease in demands within the coming five years. Due to the advancement in technology giving rise to personalized computer the job of computer operators will go out of demand because the personalized computers are now functioning in the fields that were done by humans (Bowman, 2015). The customer service centers are also moved to developed countries like India and Mexico for cheaper labors and therefore their demands are also decreasing. In the age of emails, postal service mail sorters and processors will vanish. Examine a paid occupation: An industry where a graduate may expect to excel is the healthcare industry which is developing all over the country at a very fast rate. As mentioned, an individual having a thorough knowledge of healthcare and nursing along with the skills of management and leadership is expected to make a mark in her career (Huber, 2013). Within this career one would not only be able to develop my healthcare services by providing utmost care and affection to the patients, one may also get a chance to display my managerial and leadership skills. Having knowledge of both healthcare and business managements will add an extra benefit as the organization may think it as an opportunity to appoint someone who can perform both skills within a particular package that might increase when two individuals with separate skills are appointed. He should have training in nursing which would be done in bachelor of nursing days. He can further pursue diploma courses in management and leaderships. Therefore in the career of nursing leadership and management, the task of the individual would be to manage the team of the assigned enrolled nurses through proper communicative skills, honesty and integrity and self confidence (Yoder-Wise, 2014). The knowledge of the various skills, ethics and moral virtues with the correct principles of benevolence, justice, autonomy, non maleficence and others would help me to guide the nurses in their respective tasks and would help me to teach them properly if certain ethical or moral issues arise. At the same time leadership trails of the individuals like achievement drive, leadership motivation, cognitive ability, emotional maturity, creativity and flexibility would be practices to bring out the team spirit (Wong Laschinger, 2013). The skills that are required in this career are not only limited to this career only and can also be applied in other careers as well. This could be enlightened with the help of an example. The leadership and the managerial skills that the individual can display in this carer would help him to gain experience which he can apply to other careers as well like while managing teams in medicine or pharmaceutical industry or other business management industries. The nursing skill that he possess will help him to achieve success when he gets into a career of making health policies which requires policies to be set up for both healthcare sectors and patients. Therefore the skills that he possess will not be limited to this career only and can be manipulated and utilized in various other industrial sectors as well. The healthcare sector has a huge contribution to the society. It helps in providing treatment to patients who are suffering from different types of acute or chronic ailments. This service helps in not only saving lives of the people from the mouth of death but also at the same time is capable of providing quality life to patients who might not be possible without the application of proper intervention and affection required to go through the tumultuous phase in the life of the patients (Demeh Rosengren, 2015). Not only the society but the entire responsibility of ensuring healthy lives and diseases free nation is expected by each and every individual of a developed nation. In 2014 Australia ranked sixth in the entire world on the terms of healthcare efficiency that has risen from the rank of seventh that existed in 2013. It also rated seventh in life expectancy. The contribution of this healthcare system to economy is debatable. Many suggest that increasing number of aged population poses a threat to the economy due to excessive resource use and treatments that result in draining of economy. However this had been argued by other experts. According to them the sector has already proved to be largest platform of employment and is designated as the fifth largest contributor to nations economy. It can contribute more to the economy by maximizing its potential for export, attracting foreign market and talent in private sector and also causing commercialization of public schemes (Galetta et al., 2013). Examine an unpaid occupation: A number of voluntary organizations are present in Australia which had received accreditations from the Government. One such organization is the world vision Australia that is based under the Australian NGO Control Protocol (ANCP). This is a volunteer organization is a worldwide community development organization which had helped in providing different short term and long term assistance to about 100 million people worldwide. They are now working in Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, Caribbean, Africa and also Asia and Pacific regions. The main action that the organization is committed to includes transformational development, emergency relief, and promotion of justice, strategic initiatives, public awareness and Christian engagement by opposing proselytism and coercion of any kind. Currently this organization has 543 employees on full time basis and 109 employees in part time basis. They mainly have the aim of eradication of world poverty and quality life and future for children. In this organization, the individual would like to work as the healthcare and relationship development volunteer who would work in association with the pastoral care manager in developing the relationship among the different employees. The different employees working here have dedicated their lives to achieve the mission that the World Vision Australia has wanted to achieve (Dyer McNicol, 2015). A large number of staffs are present in the organization who works with diverse communities that are present in each and every corners of the world. They tend to help them achieve education and also provide them with strategies by which they make their lives better. They also tend to make them self reliant through teaching them arts of living and ways of livelihoods. However since all the staffs are human, they also gets affected from the stress that they undergo and therefore often fall sick both physically and mentally. Often there arise many conflicts between different staffs due to exces sive diverse employees who tend to work here (Toole, 2016). Therefore the individual role would be to care for the health of these staffs and to look over that a healthy and a stable relationship is maintained between them. He would be a volunteer who can also participate in projects and travel to various communities to treat and heal their ailments To work as a healthcare and relationship volunteer, the individual need to have a bachelors degree in healthcare science and also a diploma or a bachelors degree in business and management. Providing the correct intervention to the staffs so that they can recover fast or to help them overcome their mental disorders like depression, anxiety and others will be the exact job of the individual. Managing relationships between the different employees through correct knowledge of cross cultural management and values is also necessary. When he is able to build a warm relationships among every staff based on trust and reliability with feelings of dedication for each other, staffs would be liable to take more risks, challenges, make changes, keep organizations and movements alive (Shevellar, Johnson Lyons, 2015). The organization handles both paid employees and volunteers. If the recruitment board is satisfied by the performance of the individual in the fields of healthcare services and also in the maintenance of a stable work environment by creating strong relationships between the employees, then the opportunity for a paid job prospect may be provided to the volunteering individual (Coleman et al., 2016). They may provide the designation of healthcare manager or may provide the role or relationship officer where the individual may have to work with the Pastoral Care managers Dave Waters. The organization has a huge contribution to the society where they aim to help in community development, humanitarian and emergency relief, tackling injustice through policy change and advocacy and engaging young workforce for helping the disadvantaged people. About 45000 staffs are working in 96 countries covering about 100 million people with 2.4 million children. This noble initiative hopes to bring a change to all the communities providing them quality life. It is mainly a nonprofit organization which mainly works by collecting finds for charities. This organization hardly affects the economy. Rather it has a contribution to the development of the nations economy. The organizations initiative to educate different disadvantaged communities, to be self reliant, to be able to earn and support own family through provisions of agriculture, handicrafts preparation and others tend to enrich nations economy through self sufficiency. Examine recruitment: Some of the important recruitment competitors in present Australia are SEEK.COM. It is a recruitment company which encompasses a strong base of employment, education and volunteer business. It is spread across Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Kenya, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore. It makes a great contribution to the young aspiring generation with exposure to about 4.1 billion people and about more than 30 % of global GDP. Another company is the careers.online.au. It was established in the year 1995 and till to this day have been successful in serving thousands of aspirants every year. Jobserach.gov.au is a governmental initiative that provides jobs to aspirants. Adzuna.com is another website of /Australia that provided jobs. They claim to provide smarter search options and powerful data about the job market, giving the aspirant any information that he might need to take control of t he career. The plan was laid in the year 2010 and the site was active from April in 2011 and it came to Australia in 2013. Another site is careerone.com.au. It claims to provide solutions to deliver recruitment, redeployment and education space using Monster's world-class matching technology and visually immersive platforms. They have been the Official Recruitment Partner of the AFL and major sponsor of CarltonFC. Some of the trends that the companies should incorporate for effective recruitment is that the hiring and recruiting managers should be subjected to anonymous resume screening and blind interviewing through removal of irrelevant information on resumes that may create biasness as dine in Google and Deloitte along with eradication of visual and voice biasness (Allen, 2014). Another trend is the important shift towards finding talents which becomes easier but selling talent is more difficult. Through internet finding talented job seekers is easy but the recruiters have to try hard to develop stronger selling skills. This would be done in the areas of convincing the prospects to apply to come to multiple interviews and to accept the recruiters offer (Sharma, 2014). Other trend is that video becomes prominent in all recruiting messages. Selling capability of the job descriptions have to be improved. A focus should be done on recruiting innovators who produce in greater multiples than aver age worker in same job. This is adopted by Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon. Forward looking approach to recruiting is one of the trends as well. The company or the health care organization that one should choose to apply must be entirely analyzed before applying. Some of the main areas which should be checked are the working style of the company, working environment of the company, reviews of the ex workers, its prospects in growth in the past years, that it aims in the future, its achieved successes, its reputation and the all over package it is offering along with the incentives and bonuses (Javaid et al., 2014). All information cannot be gathered but most of the information should be collected to ensure application in the right organization. Companies that would fulfill the above mentioned requirements in a positive note along with expected salary package would be the ones where one should apply. Here are various ways by which one can seek employment in the chosen companies. It might be through writing emails by expressing wishes to be the part of the organizations. Others might include visiting their websites and seeking for vacancies and applying through their career with us options that will give an idea about the vacancies. Direct drop in of CV in the form of forced applications or through online job sites can also be performed. Dropping the resumes on the job portal sites are the best options because that would help one to get with a list of the healthcare organizations that would need my service. This would provide the individual with greater and expanded options for a wider number of organizations and would therefore will be the best option. Conclusion: From the entire report, one can come to conclusion that having good knowledge about the job market is essential to understand the position that one holds while searching for a job in the market. He can understand the scope that he holds to get an opportunity in the expected field. Moreover an idea about the paid market opportunities and nonpaid market opportunities are also important so that one can clearly understand what he should expect from the organization and what he needs to deliver to the organization. He should also know the tools that he needs to apply in order to find the correct organization and how to apply for them. All these information would prepare the individual entirely to venture the job market effectively and successfully. References: Abel, J. R., Deitz, R., Su, Y. (2014).
